Kung Fu Panda

In Animated, Movies, Recommended on July 5, 2008 at 1:43 pm

I think Jack Black did a great job as ‘Po’ the Panda. He brought a level of comedy to the film that is just ‘Jack Black’ awesomeness.

It was great to hear the kids laugh through out – and I confess I laughed with them, because it had some great characters and funny scenes. This is definitely an animated film for all ages and one you could watch over and over.

Personal highlights from the film were the action scenes, Jack Black ‘fat jokes’ and Po’s ‘noodle’ dad!

The Holiday

In Chick Flick on December 10, 2006 at 8:21 am

This movie had everything that I love about Chick Flicks. The Lido was showing Advance Screenings this weekend so I dragged Wayne along with me. Wayne’s constant groans were further confirmation that this was the best chick flick of all time.

I wish I was Kate Winslet! She is so cool in this movie. Jude Law is also perfectly cast as the romantic lead opposite the very likable Cameron Diaz. Who would have thought of Jack Black as romantic leading man either! Brillant. This movie is basically about two women with men-problems, until they swap homes in each other’s countries, where they each meet a local guy and find themselves! This movie has similar ‘Bridget Jones’ moments – but I love that tried and true formula.
This movie is one I could watch over and over again. It was 2 wonderful hours of romantic escapism. (Wayne is my very hot – Jack Black!) This movie makes me want to do a home exchange! I bet the demand for these will skyrocket as a result of this movie.

King Kong

In Celebrating New Zealand Films, Drama on January 1, 2006 at 5:47 pm

Saw twice – loved the first hour in which they create all the character development. I went to the movie knowing nothing about the King Kong story – was surprised that there was a great story in it.

Enjoyed all the action and special effects on the Island.

Great movie.
