What is Christmas without a holiday film? This combines the silliness of the season with a somewhat watered down chick flick formula. Although not a laugh out loud funny film, it still manages to get a smile and a chuckle.
There will be lots to relate too (if you have a dis-functional family you wish to avoid), or plenty to laugh at (and be thankful for) if you don’t. Either way its a light comedy that will entertain.
Reese is lovely as Kate and Vince Vaughn (who is usually average) is quite good as this character. Overall this film works despite the many cliches.

This isn’t the type of film I usually go to the theater to see, but I went to see this one. Mostly because we lost power in an ice storm and we were looking for a place to sit for a while where there was heat. We didn’t have much expectation other than mild amusement.
I was pleasantly surprised. It was funny (I’m a big fan of Vince Vaughn anyways) and heartwarming ……and the theater was heated. What more could I ask for? Not great cinema …….but well above average.
